A few useful notes

Good questions.
Clear answers.

A little more about the files, the process, and what to expect.

What kinds of sheet music can I convert?

Upload printed, standard Western music notation as PDF, JPG, or PNG. Each score can contain up to 10 pages and 20 MB. Clear 300 dpi scans and straight, evenly lit photos work best. Handwritten music and tablature are not supported. For recordings, use our separate Audio to MusicXML converter.

Which download format should I choose?

Choose MusicXML for editable notation, with .mxl available for a smaller file. MIDI works in music software and DAWs. MP3 gives you synthesized practice audio, and PDF gives you a newly typeset score to print. All formats are included in one price. Audio exports support scores up to 60 minutes.

Will the converted score be perfect?

Music recognition can make mistakes, especially with dense scores or unclear scans. The result window lets you compare the original with the recognized score and listen to the notes. Review your download and make any corrections in your notation software.

Do I need a subscription?

Pay as you go at $0.50 per source page ($3 minimum per order), or choose a monthly subscription: Musician includes 50 pages for $9; Studio includes 150 pages for $19; Professional includes 1,000 pages for $99. Unused subscription pages expire at the end of each billing month and do not roll over. Preview your score before unlocking downloads.

Can I convert my own file right now?

Yes. Upload a printed score, compare the converted notation, and listen for free. Unlock MusicXML, MIDI, MP3, and printable PDF with a one-time payment or your subscription pages. Files are private and downloads stay available for 24 hours after unlocking.
